Q: Step 2 is your Surface Cleanser. What is the difference between this and the Surface Wash?

A: Well, the Surface Wash gets rid of the obvious dirt and grime visible on the surface. However, to really clean a paint surface and get it ready for the Finish Cream, you need to use a penetrating cleanser like our IMAGE 10 Surface Cleanser to remove as much of the environmental contaminants and old wax and polish residue that may be trapped in the microscopic valleys of the paint’s surface. The Surface Cleanser also helps remove minor etching and swirl marks. That is what it is specially designed to do, and do very safely. And our Surface Cleanser contains no fillers or oils which cover only temporarily.

Q: So what is the Heavy Duty Surface Cleanser for?

A: If a car is a daily driver, or its paint finish has been neglected, we may recommend our Heavy Duty Surface Cleanser. It is more aggressive than our regular Surface Cleanser, so great care needs to be taken to follow the directions carefully. But if you have swirl marks or oxidation that our regular Surface Cleanser does not remove, then we recommend trying our Heavy Duty Surface Cleanser.
